Stellar Health and Wellness is happy to introduce Chiropractor, Dr. Andrea Herrst! Not only is Dr. Herrst a skilled chiropractor, she is also a wife and mother of two beautiful children. Dr. Herrst was born and raised in Michigan before relocating to Portland, Oregon to get her doctorate from the University of Western States. Immediately after graduating, she opened and ran her own chiropractic clinic for many years before deciding it was time to slow down. Currently, Dr. Andrea Herrst treats patients two days a week at Stellar Health and Wellness in Clackamas, Oregon. On her off days, she cares for her family, keeps busy at her children’s schools, and enjoys life.

Get to know her by watching our interview with Dr. Herrst and follow along as she answers a few questions on health for us:

What is Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation?

Pelvic floor rehabilitation is the process of improving the strength and function of the muscles that support your bladder, urethra, colon and other organs in your pelvic bowl. Prolapse is a condition of having one of these organs physically out of place. Stress incontinent occurs when physical movement such as coughing, sneezing or even heavy lifting puts stress or pressure on the bladder. Pelvic floor rehabilitation is helpful in treating minor to moderate prolapse, stress incontinence, and more.

What is Cranial Sacral Therapy?

Cranial sacral therapy or craniosacral therapy is a technique that relieves compression in the bones of the head, sacrum, and spinal column by using gentle pressure to relieve the compressions that may be causing stress and pain. Newborn infants are especially great candidates for cranial sacral therapy due to the physical pressure they experience during the birthing process.

What is the Webster Technique?

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment used on pregnant women. Receiving the Webster Technique during pregnancy can support a safer, more comfortable and easier birth process.

Dr. Andrea Herrst is a certified Webster Technique practitioner and is trained in Graston Technique and Holistic Pelvic Care™ pelvic floor rehabilitation. She is a past board member and current active member of the Oregon Chiropractic Association and is also a member of the American Pregnancy Association and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
