Amy graduated from the American College of Healthcare Science with an AAS in Complementary Alternative Medicine in 2017. Most of her life, she has struggled with self-image, self-esteem and managing a healthy weight. She tried diet after diet, begged for help from others, and still found herself in the same place. She was unhappy and 65 pounds overweight. Upon completion of her degree, she began desperately searching for real change. Using all of the tools she had just spent years studying, she discovered a passion for real food and nutrition. This unlocked a deep desire to help others find their way through this same journey!
Amy believes that helping people learn to eat real healthy food sets them up for long term success rather than the peaks and valleys offered by shakes and pre-packaged diet meals that are often not sustainable.
Amy currently lives in Gresham, Oregon with her husband John and three kiddos. Tristan, Piper, and Toby keep her very busy, but she wouldn’t have it any other way! Amy is a lover of her church and her community. Helping clients meet their health goals brings her great joy every day.
It is easy to feel alone when you are unhappy with your body. It is also easy to feel like you are the only one who just can’t shed the pounds. Our bodies are complex and unique. This is why a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t usually work.
Having a program created specifically for you makes all the difference in the world. Learning to eat a healthy diet of real food can certainly help you drop weight, but this is not the only reason to work with an integrative nutritionist. Other welcome side effects of making dietary changes include
During a visit with our integrative nutritionist, you will receive a custom program designed especially for you. We work with you to learn who you are, what your food likes and dislikes are, what programs you have tried in the past, what your schedule is like, if you have any food intolerances or allergies, and much more. From there we will create a custom meal plan that is macro-balanced to allow your body to release the optimal amount of fat! You will also receive a custom exercise program to help you achieve your desired results.
During each visit, we take a body composition reading to measure the amount of fat and muscle in your body, calculate your “body age,” and take measurements from your neck down to your calves. All of this helps us track the changes your body is making. We monitor the progress you have made from month to month and celebrate your results!
During your visits, we will talk about things like
Each day, you will spend about 30 seconds per meal to log in your food choices using our HIPAA compliant app. This will allow us to see what you are eating, help you troubleshoot, make suggestions, encourage, and celebrate with you! Support is key!
We make custom programs for people in all stages and walks of life. If you are looking to lose 5 pounds or 200 pounds, have an auto-immune disease, looking to decrease inflammation, or manage a food intolerance, we can help! These can be daunting challenges to face, but you’ll never be alone on this journey. We will walk with you every step of the way.
We are what we eat, right? Wrong! We are what we eat, digest, and absorb. Proper digestion and absorption are lacking in so many due to the foods that are common in this culture. I know, every doctor has a different definition of a healthy diet. It gets confusing! Trust me, I know – I have sifted through all the information I can get my hands on. Through my research, training, and experience, I preach what I feel is the healthiest diet for most.
I call it the real food diet or a modified paleo diet. Basically, you need to eat real food! That is meat, vegetables, and fruit. Simple, right?
What about other foods? Well, feel free to eat them, but understand the risks. This is where it is a good idea to have food sensitivity testing performed by our holistic doctor, Dr. Della Parker. Then you can identify what other foods you should strictly avoid, and what foods are good to go.
The most important thing about eating is to remember the 80/20 rule. We aren’t robots! Eat well 80% of the time but if you can tolerate it and you want a figgin’ cupcake on your birthday (and the other 20% of the year) then DO IT! And do it guilt free!
Think happy thoughts about what you eat, whatever it is!
“I was referred to Stellar Health and Wellness from a friend when my nutrition was out of hand. Amy made me feel like a person, listened to my wants/needs and provided such an amazing level of support. Six months in and I’ve lost 45 pounds eating REAL food and having REAL struggles. I recommend her 100%!” – Christy
“Such an amazing place! I see the amazing nutritionist Amy, and she has guided me to change my life for the better. By eliminating foods my body does not like, I have reduced swelling in my joints, brain fog and feeling horrible after I eat. Complete lifetime health is important to these ladies, and it shows in all they do.” – Allison
“One of the best decisions! Thankful for Amy at Stellar Health & Wellness. I’ve been guided into a healthier & happier me. My husband and I have lost 57lbs between the two of us. No gimmicks, just nutritional guidance & real foods. Life-changing.” – Jodi
“I highly recommend Amy Hardesty, Integrative Nutritionist. I’ve been working with her for almost 5 months and have been able to lose 50 pounds so far. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and needed help wrapping my mind around the big dietary changes I needed to make. I’ve been able to tell her my likes and dislikes and she customized a meal plan for me based on those likes and dislikes and fine-tuned it specifically for Hashimotos. It comes with a grocery list so- she tells me what to eat, when to eat it, and how much. How much easier can it get? She has set me up for success and on top of all that, she’s kind and gentle and listens to all the emotions that come along with these changes. You won’t regret working with her, and I plan on making Dr. Parker my ND in the near future.” – Sarah
“Amy Hardesty is great! I reached out to her to start nutritional support and just loved it! I loved the accountability, meal plans, and above all the real, healthy non-diet food. I lost weight fast eating avocados and bacon! It has to be real food to work and be long term- when you stop paying the “other program” for the bars or shakes…you scramble to find what to eat. This has been totally attainable and I’m forever grateful to reach my pre-kid weight….finally!! Thanks, Amy!” – Melea
“I simply can’t say enough about Amy Hardesty ~ she’s amazing! I started my journey with her to lose weight, but most of all to gain the proper knowledge and tools to have the confidence that I can make the right decisions and eat the foods that are going to fuel my body and not leave me feeling sluggish and heavy. I also used to experience chronic migraines which I’ve had absolutely ZERO since working with Amy. If you are committed to giving 100%, Amy will give back tenfold. She’s a fabulous cheerleader, teacher and I’m proud to say, now a friend!” – Cassie
“Amy Hardesty is an amazing woman! She’s walked the walk with weight loss and she really gets the struggles! She’s very personable and encouraging. She will customize meal plans for your body, with any food allergies or sensitivities. She’ll give you encouragement when you need it, and give you a little push when things get tough. I love the time I have spent working with Amy, and highly recommend her!” – Jennifer
“My husband and I both recommend Amy Hardesty. Her meal plans and nutritional counseling work. We have been to several nutritionists and she is the best. She will work with you to find the best plan for your needs. She is easy to work with, available and approachable.” – Merry Jo
“Amy Hardesty is simply my hero. I reached out to her via Facebook and she made me feel so comfortable and confident. I stuck with the diet except for working out. I didn’t work out one time in the 3 months I was with her and I still lost 10.5 inches. Thank you, Amy. I’m going to continue doing what you taught me and more. (Aka make time for workouts lol) because of you I believe in myself again and love how I look and feel.” – Cristal
“Working with Amy for only 4 weeks already down more than 21lbs!!!! So amazing and my energy levels are through the roof!!!!” – Kayla
