As the weather warms we should all concern ourselves with increasing our water intake. There are many ways we dehydrate ourselves every day, from our morning coffee to our afternoon iced tea to the beads of sweat that dot our foreheads on the drive home from work. There are, however, many ways to maintain proper hydration levels throughout the day; consider these few tips to avoid dehydration:
Eat fruits and veggies with high water content. Supplementing your diet with foods with a high-water content like watermelon, cucumbers, and grapefruit is an easy way to curb dehydration not to mention a great way to boost your health altogether.
Invest in a water bottle that you really, really love. Rather than trying to supply yourself with disposable bottles, having a bottle you actually like will ensure you actually follow through — plus, no waste! Keep it with you at all times and make sure to empty it more than once a day.
Infuse your water. Add sliced strawberries, lemon wedges, or cucumber slices for a refreshing alternative to sugary sodas or overly caffeinated beverages, both of which are diuretics which can leave you dehydrated.
